ATA Tigers Martial Arts Ages 4 to 6
ATA Tigers is our preschool Taekwondo program designed just for kids ages 4 to 6 in Cadillac, Manistee, and Suttons Bay, Michigan. Most parents come to us with the same concerns. Their child has lots of energy, struggles to listen, or has a hard time following directions. ATA Tigers gives young kids structure in a fun way while still letting them move, laugh, and feel proud of themselves.
Classes focus on basic Taekwondo movements while building real-life skills like courtesy, respect, and self-discipline. Kids learn how to stand in line, raise their hand, and listen to the instructor, all while kicking pads and playing age-appropriate games. This helps improve balance, coordination, and motor skills, which is especially helpful during long northern Michigan winters when outdoor play is limited.
ATA Tigers also uses a unique rank system with collectible animal patches that kids love. From Ara the Turtle to Baron the red belt leader, each rank teaches a lesson kids can understand. Parents often notice better behavior at home, more confidence at school, and excitement about coming to class. ATA Tigers is not about being perfect. It is about building strong habits early and helping kids feel successful one class at a time.

ATA Karate for Kids Ages 7 to 12
ATA Karate for Kids is designed for children ages 7 to 12 in Cadillac, Manistee, and Suttons Bay, Michigan. This is the age where many parents start noticing gaps in focus, confidence, or follow-through. Kids may struggle with listening at school, setting goals, or sticking with activities. Karate for Kids gives them a clear structure where effort matters and progress feels earned.
Classes teach the fundamentals of Taekwondo while building life skills kids actually use. Students learn positive attitude, goal setting, perseverance, self-control, and confidence through repetition and encouragement. Because martial arts is an individual activity, every child participates and progresses at their own pace. Kids train with others their age, which helps them feel comfortable and supported instead of compared.
Parents choose ATA Karate for Kids because it goes beyond exercise. Kids learn how to handle challenges without aggression, improve their social skills, and stay active in a positive way. The belt system helps children learn how to set goals and keep working toward them, even when it gets tough. Families across northern Michigan often say this program helps their child grow not just on the mat, but at home and at school, too.

ATA Teens and Adult Martial Arts
ATA Teens and Adult Martial Arts is designed for students in Cadillac, Manistee, and Suttons Bay, Michigan, who want more than a typical workout. Many teens and adults start training because the gym got boring or solo workouts stopped working. Others want confidence, stress relief, or real self-defense skills that make sense in everyday life. This program gives all of that in a structured and supportive environment.
Classes combine traditional ATA Taekwondo with high-energy fitness and practical self-defense. Students build strength, balance, and flexibility while learning how to stay calm and aware in uncomfortable situations. Training covers scenarios adults actually think about, like walking to a car at night or protecting someone you care about. Even students who never plan to fight gain confidence from knowing how to handle themselves.
Because martial arts is always changing, classes stay interesting and motivating. As students improve, new challenges keep them engaged both physically and mentally. Teens gain discipline and confidence that carries into school and social life. Adults often say they feel stronger, more focused, and more consistent than they have in years. This is fitness with purpose, not a routine you get tired of after a few weeks.

Classes improve balance, reflexes, and confidence while keeping workouts engaging and challenging. Weapon training is not about aggression. It is about control, respect, and mental sharpness. Many students enjoy this program because it adds variety, keeps training fresh, and helps them continue growing long after the basics feel familiar.
